The Light of Metempsychosis – A seeker's path to mindful cultivation
In a quest for "truth", a person embarks on an arduous journey day and night, encountering scene after scene that seem both real and illusory, palpable yet insubstantial. As the dream is real, so is reality a dream. People within or without can no longer distinguish between reality and illusion, and the conscious and the subconscious. They can only soldier on, as the "truth" may just be around the corner.
The Light of Metempsychosis, the first cinematographic work by scenographer and singing bowl artist Tsang Man-tung, narrates a seeker’s life journey through sound and image. This work merges images of nature with healing soundwaves that transcend the limits of language. The audience follows their senses and immerses in sounds and images in the mindfulness journey which begins externally and ends in the mind. If one realises that the mind is a mirror, one would be able to see the true face of life itself.
