The speakers will share their creative ideas and art practice, taking the audience along the journey of children puppet theatre development in Hong Kong.  Similarities and differences between Hong Kong and foreign children puppet theatres in terms of story theme, puppet design and means of expression will also be explored.

The Development of Traditional Chinese Puppet Theatre in Contemporary Theatre Performance

How does traditional Chinese puppet theatre integrate with interactive multimedia elements?  The speakers will draw their experiences from past creations and performances to explore the directions and challenges of traditional puppet plays in the modern theatre, in terms of physicality, space, lighting and interactive projection.

 

The running time of each talk is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes without intermission
