‘Cantonese Music Assembly’ represents young music performers in Hong Kong and Guangzhou converge to play music together. Who are all born in the 70s and 80s. They have received years of strict musical training and are active in Chinese, Western and pop music communities. On top of the traditional “Hard-and-soft-bow” five-piece combo, the ensemble also combines traditional Guangdong music, new interpretations of Guangdong songs and vocal music in the performance to bring a brand new experience to the audience. The concert aims at showcasing the vibrant and diverse culture of Guangdong and how it absorbs external cultures, as well as to demonstrate the commitment of the new generation of Hong Kong and Guangzhou musicians towards the transmission and passing on of Guangdong music.
