Due to overwhelming response, there will be limited seats which are originally blocked for technical use and with restricted view available for sale on a first-come-first-served basis.
The Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, along with the National Class One Conductor Fan Tao, will present the animation in concert, The Carnival of the Animals.
Our carnival starts with the overture from the opera Ruslan and Lyudmila, composed by the Russian composer Glinka. On the wedding day of the ancient knight Ruslan and the princess Lyudmila, the sky suddenly changed and the thunder shocked the guests. Two monsters suddenly appeared and caught the princess. Svetozar, the Great Prince of Kiev, asked the people whoever could save the princess, the princess would be promised to him, and he could rule half of the kingdom. Come hell or high water, Ruslan finally succeeded to rescue the princess, hand in hand altogether crossing the beautiful life.
After the courageous life of Ruslan, there is also the story of a modern violin rookie star in this concert. The 13 year-old violinist Wong Pui-ying has participated in the International Yampolsky Violin Competition in Moscow this year with a landslide victory. She will show us the champion’s charisma by performing Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto in the concert.
The climax of the concert will be Saint-Saëns’s The Carnival of the Animals. The Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra will join forces with the artwork designer Kenneth Tsang (winner of the best of painting scholarship in the 2006 Emerging Texas Artist Award), motion graphic designer Chih Leung, and pianists Zhen Xiyuan and Lau Shing-ho to draw the pictures of The Carnival of the Animals through music and animation. We cordially invite you to attend our vivid carnival concert!
