Chan Tin-chi graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with a Bachelor’s degree (with First Class Honours) and a Master of Music degree (with Distinction), majoring in guzheng under the supervision of national class one musician, Xu Lingzi. Chan started learning guzheng at a young age from Lau Hang and Connie Ng. At the same time, she also furthered her skills under the tutelage of many famous guzheng players and was trained in Chaozhou music under Wang Peiyu, Lin Yingpin and Lin Jiheng, the butterfly zheng under Ning Lingjuan, konghou under Wu Lin, guqin (as minor) under Teo Kheng-chong, and piano under Cheung Tak-ming.
Chan has won numerous awards in international competitions, including the Young Professional Group C Bronze Award at the 3rd “Dunhuang Cup” Chinese Guzheng Artistic Elite Show; Gold Award in the Young Professional Group at the 4th International Guzheng Competition; Class One Award in the Professional Group at the 7th Shenzhen “Fangyin Cup” Guzheng Competition; Silver Award in the Professional Group at the 1st “Youth Music Cup” Zheng Competition for the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong; and a National Gold Award at the 4th China Youth Arts Festival Guzheng Competition.
Chan is active in performing and in teaching. She currently teaches at the HKAPA and is ensemble manager, as well as the guzheng and konghou musician of the Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble. She was also a presenter of the Radio and Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 4’s Next Stop is R4 – Chinese Music, a programme segment where she presented and promoted Chinese music. Chan has collaborated and performed with various organisations, among them The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong City Chinese Orchestra, the Hong Kong YWCA Chinese Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Professional Zheng Artistic Ensemble. She was elected as one of the “Young Music Makers” by the RTHK in 2015 and took part in their sound recording and television programme. She was also one of Community Cultural Ambassadors of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in 2013 and 2014.

The performance will run for about 1 hour and 45 minutes including a 15 minute intermission.
Audience is strongly advised to arrive punctually. Latecomers will only be admitted during the intermission or at a suitable break.
The presenter reserves the right to change the programme and substitute artists.
