Bring audiences an extraordinary experience by presenting Ibsen's classic play in the form of reader's theatre
The government of a coastal Norwegian town is investing substantially on a spa project. The spa is highly therapeutic and will prove to be a major tourists’ attraction that can bring prosperity to the town. Mayor Peter Stockmann is proud of this project, but his younger brother, Dr. Thomas Stockmann, sees it differently – the town’s leather factory could indeed pollute the water source of the spa and cause severe diseases. The Mayor does not want to publicize the issue, nor is he ready to accept the solution proposed by Dr. Stockmann. Inevitably, conflicts come along. Citizens who believe the spa will make them rich refuse to accept Dr. Stockmann’s views – friends and allies who once supported Dr. Stockmann are now pointing fingers at the doctor. Townsmen hold a democratic poll, results of which name Dr. Stockmann an enemy of the people.
