In conjunction with the grand opening of the Chinese Culture Festival, a fun-filled fairground is presented for all to experience the festive atmosphere at close range! Alongside stage performances with Chinese cultural characteristics, we are bringing you ‘Library-on-Wheels’, inspiring cultural booths and a foyer concert featuring Chinese music and more.

The specially designed truck offers about 300 books on a specific theme. Self-borrowing and returning equipment and tablets are also available. By visiting different locations, it could familiarise the public with the vast resources and accessible services of public libraries. This time, various books of Chinese Culture are selected to promote reading atmosphere and traditional Chinese Culture.

Story-telling by Story Ambassadors
The lecture, delivered by Hong Kong Museum expert adviser LEE Mei-yin, will provide a brief overview of the history of the Miao ethnic group, sharing insights of her past expeditions in the Miao villages, as well as introducing the Miao ethnic group's embroidered shoulder straps.
Lee Mei-yin graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and has been actively promoting Chinese culture for over 30 years. Her research interests include Chinese ethnic minorities (history and costumes), Buddhist art and silk and embroidery. She used to teach at the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong (2000-2010), specialising in the history of ethnic minorities, Buddhist art, Dunhuang culture and silk and embroidery (history and appreciation), etc. She is a member of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee of Hong Kong and also a Visiting Research Fellow of the Dunhuang Academy and a Committee Member of the China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation. She is currently Advisor to The Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture (ethnic culture), Vice Chairman of Friends of Dunhuang (Hong Kong) and Expert Adviser of the Hong Kong Museum Advisory Committee.
