This is the story of a grown man who leads a woolly, groggy life and only comes alive when he recalls his childhood days.
With his head spinning from his workload, big fat guy Kit longs to return to his childhood where memories far better than his current life abound. The exquisite visuals of the pop-up book, the vivid narrative of the storyteller, the agile body of the dancer and the mischievous playing of the musician come together to form scene after scene that recreate Kit’s wonderful memories as well as his seamless entrance into his world of imagination.
The Good.Old.Days is the 10th Pop-up Book Theatre production of paper artist and stage lighting designer Lau Ming-hang. Combining paper and light-and-shadow art, the show transforms a fantasy into an exquisite pop-up book and paper figures, projecting on the theatre stage page after page of a magical, nostalgic story.
