Comprised of three distinctive concerts, Indie Debut is a platform showcasing talents of 10 young artists who are passionate about and have a dream in music. Most of them come from "My Main Stage", a pilot scheme initiated and led by veteran musician Chiu Tsang-hei. These indie musicians will showcase their talents in composing and singing through their original works and share their creativity and ideas with the audience.

Producer / Programme curation : Chiu Tsang-hei
Over the last three decades, Chiu Tsang-hei has been among the most well-known names in Hong Kong’s music and entertainment industry. Being an all-rounded and multi-talented musician, he serves as producer, composer, arranger, and event curator for numerous Hong Kong and Asian artists and shows.
Chiu has composed and produced many award-winning singles over the years, and serves as the music director in Asian big names’ concerts, including that of Andy Lau, Hacken Lee, Sally Yeh, Coco Lee, Deanie Ip, Liza Wang, Jacky Cheung, to name a few, which makes him the most sought-after music director in the industry. In 2015, he also collaborated with the legendary Japanese star Koji Tamaki in his concert “Koji Tamaki Premium Symphonic Concert Live in Hong Kong”. Thanks to his professionalism & expertise in music, he is among the most-wanted music director and creative consultant in many important events of national-scale.
Chiu is also active in movie' soundtrack composition, and once awarded Best Original Film Score at the Hong Kong Film Awards with the film Comrades, Almost a Love Story.
Sea Island & Ferry
Sea Island & Ferry has also built a firm foundation in creating and recording music projects. Since its formation in 2016, it has been active in performances, and also charting its course in Macau, Taiwan and Okinawa, Japan.
Beginning with Crossings in 2018, the group has maintained a pace of releasing an album every two years. After Telescope, released in 2020 and enthusiastically received by local critics, the group presents their third recording project in 2022. Released digitally in two tranches, the project As if brings to audience a dual collection of works with contrasting theses and moods. Recently, the group was invited to create music for an exhibition titled In-Between at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, mashing up with animations, installations and other types of artwork, and culminating in the EP As if - I. In-Between.
Gwenji
Gwenji, is a Hong Kong indie-folk singer-songwriter. She makes her debut with the top-streamed, charts-listed single Don’t in 2021. Her unique, airy vocals may remind one of uprising raw talents like Agnes Obeland and beabadoobee. A self-learned musician and intuitive genius, Gwenji writes whenever the music in her head and the voice in her heart spur, pouring out every ounce of her true self. With her first album on the way, this genuine, soulful voice is one that the city much needs.
Yanny@My Main Stage
Yanny graduated with a BBA in Corporate Governance and Compliance from the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong in 2020. She joined "My Main Stage" in the same year, where she was trained for producing music and released her first original piece. The awards she received include the Golden Mic Award at the EEG Singing Contest 2014 and the Bronze Award at the World Championships of Performing Arts - Hong Kong 2019.
a Bu@My Main Stage
a Bu is a singer-songwriter who has adapted and covered several pop songs to date. He released his first original work, Wish, on various musical platforms in 2021.
Zino Chan@ My Main Stage
Zino is a singer-songwriter. He released his first original song Paper Plane on various musical platforms in 2022.
Monkey@My Main Stage
Monkey is an indie singer-songwriter. He started writing songs in 2017, and after a buskering stint, he was invited to appear on various music stages, such as Freespace at the West Kowloon Cultural District, higher perform at education institutes, department stores and markets. In 2019, he joined "My Main Stage" and went on to become a full-time singer-songwriter, with 16 original singles released to date, include Riding Bike and You are not Alone. He also makes school tours and performs at concerts of different scales.
xxtilldawn@ My Main Stage
xxtilldawn is an indie music composer born and raised in Hong Kong. She has previously released singles such as Fear and Modern Living 101, under the name "DAWN". Her musical journey began with her exposure to Hong Kong pop music when she was young. As she picked up alternative music when she grew older, she began embracing the idea that she should write Cantopop with an exotic feel and that she should speak her mind through her works. In 2019, she became officially a singer-songwriter, and released music that she wrote and arranged, complete with her own lyrics. She considers creating music an epic sound adventure full of the unknown and hopes listeners will be part of it.
RUMBU@ My Main Stage
Rumbu was trained in vocal music with soprano Joanne Shao in 2016 and passed his ABRSM Grade 8 singing exam with honours. In 2017, he participated in the "My Main Stage" Project and started learning to produce pop music. In 2018, he gave his first solo mini-concert, and in the same year, acquired Grade 2 in music performance with honours at Trinity College of London. His works include Do You Understand, Lovedar, By the Sea and Hot Cocoa.
Jeffero@ My Main Stage
Jeffero is a singer-songwriter, arranger (songs and orchestral music), song producer, and composer for film scores all in one. Between 2009 and 2010, he was a contestant in the first edition of TVB's singing competition, The Voice. Later in 2011, he went to the US where he studied pop vocal and sound mixing at the Musicians Institute and film scoring at the UCLA Extension. Upon returning to Hong Kong in 2017, he took up vocal accompaniment for animated films and television series and was a backing vocalist for various music projects and concerts. He joined "My Main Stage" in 2019. His works include Cycle.
Celine Tam
Celine Tam performed in the second season of the talent show "Let's Sing Kids" in the Mainland. She gained fame after performing My Heart Will Go On at the "America's Got Talent" show in 2017.
The "My Main Stage" programme was founded by Chiu, aiming to promote and nurture young artists in the music industry. The goal of this programme is to help those dedicated to the Hong Kong music industry and enthusiastic about music creation to solve their difficulties encountered in music production and uplift their work to a professional level. Under Chiu's mentorship, over ten participants have produced and released their songs via various online music streaming platforms.
