Due to overwhelming response, there are 10 tickets of box seats with restricted view ($200 each) available for sale at the box office of Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 10am on the recital day. Each person can purchase a maximum of 2 tickets per transaction.

Seong-Jin Cho was brought to the world’s attention in October 2015 when he won First Prize at the Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. With his overwhelming talent and natural musicality, he is rapidly embarking on a world-class career and is considered one of the most distinctive artists of his generation. In 2023, he was awarded the prestigious Samsung Ho-Am Prize in the Arts, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the world of classical music.
In 2016, Cho signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon and released his first album in the same year. His recent releases include Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 2 • Scherzi with the London Symphony Orchestra and Gianandrea Noseda in 2021, and his solo album The Handel Project in early 2023.
Highlights of 2023/24 season include his debut with the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg and Ivor Bolton at Salzburger Festspiele, concert at London’s BBC Proms with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Santtu-Matias Rouvali. He also returns to Boston Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Royal Concertgebouworkest, and makes anticipated debuts with The Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He also embarks on several international tours, including with Berliner Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko in Korea, with Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and Andris Nelsons in Korea and Japan, and with the National Symphony Orchestra (USA) and Gianandrea Noseda throughout Europe in Spring 2024.
As a recitalist, Cho appears in many of the world’s most renowned concert halls including the Carnegie Hall, Het Concertgebouw, Berliner Philharmonie, Musikverein Wien, Prinzregententheater and Barbican Centre, among others. He has collaborated with world renowned conductors including Myung-Whun Chung, Gustavo Dudamel, Andris Nelsons, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Gianandrea Noseda, Sir Simon Rattle and Esa-Pekka Salonen.
Born in 1994 in Seoul, Cho started studying the piano at six and gave his first public recital aged 11. In 2009, he won the first prize at the 7th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan, being the youngest winner in its history. In 2011, he won the Third Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, aged only 17. He is now based in Berlin.
