Andrew Ling (Violin)
Hong Kong-native Andrew Ling is a concert violist and violinist, conductor and music educator. Currently Principal Violist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) and guest conductor of Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra. He has garnered acclaim for his orchestral playing and solo recitals worldwide. He has given recitals in Hong Kong, Mainland, North America and Europe.
He worked alongside some of the world’s foremost conductors, including Jaap van Zweden, Edo de Waart, Jun Märkl, Leonard Slatkin, etc. And he has played with many renowned musicians including Wang Yuja, Lin Choliang, Jaime Laredo, Ning Feng, Michael Guttman and The Shanghai Quartet.
Ling began his violin training at the age of six under the late Professor Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He went on to pursue violin performance at the Indiana University and the Rice University under Henryk Kowalski, Mauricio Fuks, Alan de Veritch, the late Ik-hwan Bae and Lin Choliang.
In tandem with his creative and performative activities, Ling is also a passionate pedagogue, he currently teaches violin at Hong Kong Baptist University and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He is the recipient of Certificate of Commendation from Secretary of Home Affairs of Hong Kong in 2012.
Richard Bamping (Cello)
Richard Bamping has held the title of Principal Cellist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra since 1993. He has performed with many of the finest musicians of recent history — Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Leonidas Kavakos, Mstislav Rostropovich, Carlo Maria Giulini, Valery Gergiev, Leonard Bernstein, Lorin Maazel, Sir Colin Davis and Claudio Abbado, to name but a few. His many solo appearances with the Orchestra have been greeted with critical acclaim. Bamping has performed many of the staples of the solo cello repertoire with orchestras from Europe to the Far East. He has a great passion for playing chamber music with friends and colleagues whenever he gets the chance.
Bamping’s cello, dated 1674 was made in Cremona by Andrea Guarneri and is one of only nine surviving examples of his work.
Dora Tsang (Piano)
Dora Tsang received her Master degree in Piano Performance and Performer Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and later completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Minnesota. She has rich experience in solo and chamber music performance and has performed in Hong Kong, North America and Europe. She currently served as a faculty in Collaborative Piano at the School of Music, Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen in 2023-2024.
Wun Wai-ki (Clarinet)
Wun Wai-ki received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Master of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, after completing his Bachelor of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music. He has been the principal clarinetist of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra. He is a clarinetist, violinist, vocalist and conductor. He currently teaches IB music programme at Diocesan Boys’ School.
