The performance will run for about 1 hour and 30 minutes including a 15-minute intermission.

Audience is strongly advised to arrive punctually.  Latecomers will only be admitted during the intermission or at a suitable break.

Charles Tam graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2017, studied with Gabriel Kwok and Raymond Young.  He further his study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund’s Scholarship in 2019, under the tutelage of Peter Bithell and Carole Presland.  He is currently a Fellow in Piano Performance at the School, studying under Ronan O’Hora.

The many prizes Tam won include International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia, Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition (Hong Kong & Macau Regional Competition), London Glass Sellers Beethoven Piano Prize Competition and Hong Kong International Piano Competition.  In addition, he was highly praised at masterclasses with Arie Vardi, Stephen Hough, Imogen Cooper, Dang Thai Son and more.

Tam has performed with various orchestras.  He has also given performances in prestigious venues and festivals, including Wigmore Hall, Barbican Centre, Esterházy Palace and more.  He has given performances extensively in the United Kingdom, Austria, Spain, Germany, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, among others.
