Eliane Elias will perform her hit compositions, including a selection of works from her album Quietude (2022). With her unique presentations, she will be combining jazz, Brazilian, classical and pop music styles, showcasing her musical talents to Hong Kong audiences.

Eliane Elias (Piano / Vocal)
Eliane Elias is an internationally acclaimed multi Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning recording artist. She is a pianist, singer, composer as well as an arranger. Her distinctive musical style is one of the most unique and immediately recognisable sounds in jazz and Brazilian music. Elias blends her Brazilian roots and alluring voice with her virtuosic instrumental jazz, classical and compositional skills. Her pianistic mastery and ability to integrate the multiple artistic roles she takes on are consistently displayed in her performances.
Elias’ album Mirror Mirror (2021) won the Grammy Award and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album/Jazz Album in 2022. Her album Quietude (2022) debuted as #1 on Billboard, iTunes, Amazon Jazz Charts and received a Libera Award Nomination for Best Latin Record in 2023 and nomination for the Best Latin Jazz Album 2024 Grammy Award.
With thirty-one albums and over 2.4 million albums sold to date, Elias has toured in seventy-four countries. Her albums Love Stories (2019) and Mirror Mirror (2021) were both voted Downbeat’s Best Album of the Year – Masterpiece and hit #1 on the jazz charts worldwide like most of her previous releases. Elias is a four-time Gold Disc Award recipient, a three-time Best Vocal Album winner in Japan and winner of the 2018 Edison Lifetime Achievement Award in Holland to name a few accolades. She received two Libera Award nominations for Best Latin Record in 2017 and 2023, and has been nominated ten times by the Grammys and Latin Grammys, receiving nominations in five different categories and won two Grammys and two Latin Grammys to date.
Marc Johnson (Double Bass)
Marc Johnson is a world-renowned bassist, composer and producer whose illustrious career has seen him perform and record with many of the world’s most acclaimed jazz musicians including Bill Evans and Stan Getz. At the age of just 25, he joined the Bill Evans Trio in what would be Evans’ last lineup, following the footsteps of pioneering bassists Scott LaFaro, Gary Peacock, Chuck Israels and Eddie Gomez. Johnson has then played and recorded with many other giants of the jazz world. As band leader, Johnson also led his own bands, including quartet Bass Desires alongside guitar legends Bill Frisell and John Scofield with drumming power house Peter Erskine. Two of their albums, Bass Desires and Second Sight, were released with ECM in the 1980s and received international recognition. Another critically acclaimed recording was Shades of Jade released in 2005 via ECM, which features pianist, Eliane Elias, saxophonist Joe Lovano, and guitarist John Scofield. As a producer, Marc Johnson has won two Grammy awards for co-producing Eliane Elias’ albums Made in Brazil (2016) and Dance of Time (2017) (Concord Records). His latest ECM solo album, Overpass (2021), was recorded in Brazil in 2018 and was released to world-wide acclaim.
Leandro Pellegrino (Guitar)
Leandro Pellegrino is an internationally acclaimed guitarist who has been steadily developing his reputation as one of the finest guitarists of his generation. He was awarded a full-ride scholarship to pursue his studies in Jazz and improvised music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Leandro has gained an impressive reputation among his peers and had the chance to work with many of the greatest Jazz musicians on the scene. He is the one of the guitarist of the Grammy-award winning album Beautiful Life by the exceptional jazz singer Dianne Reeves. Back in 2013, Leandro entered the Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition and was awarded the 1st prize by the hands of the legendary Lee Ritenour. He was also the first South American guitarist to ever win this Competition. In the following year, Leandro performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival as the opening act for Lee Ritenour.
Rafael Barata (Drums)
Rafael Barata is a drummer who has a particular interest in Samba, especially the Bossa Nova. He has won international Brazilian drum contests and started to play with greatest Samba Jazz legends from 60’s, who introduced to him the Jazz world. He has then recorded and performed with several internationally acclaimed artists. Since the early 2000’s, Barata has been touring around the world, performing in Jazz festivals and Theatres with musicians including the Grammy winners Eliane Elias and Dianne Reeves. He is also the drummer of Eliane Elias’s Grammy Award Winning album Made in Brazil.
