The performance will run for about 1 hour and 30 minutes including a 15-minute intermission.
Members of the audience are strongly advised to arrive punctually. Latecomers and those who leave their seats during the performance will only be admitted and allowed to return to their seats respectively during the intermission or at a suitable break. The presenter reserves the right to refuse admission of latecomers, or determine the time and manner of admission of latecomers.

Huqin : Mak Ka-yin Dick*
Mak Ka-yin Dick is currently Assistant Principal Gaohu of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO), instructor for huqin Major students at the School of Chinese Opera of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and instructor for the huqin section of the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra. He holds a master’s degree in music (erhu and gaohu) from HKAPA. Concurrently, he is actively engaged in various artistic fields as a musicmaker.
Mak trained in different types of huqins under Cheung Hiu-fai, Chan Yiu-sing, Wang Guotong, Yu Qiwei, and Zhang Chongxue. While at HKAPA, Mak received the ExxonMobil Scholarship, the Musicus Society Trey Lee Scholarship, and the Hong Kong Bank Foundation (Hong Kong – Mainland Exchange Scholarship) in recognition of his outstanding academic performance. He furthered his erhu studies in the mainland China under the guidance of Yan Jiemin, and took advanced training in erhu performance under Chan Yiu-sing in Beijing.
Mak’s previous positions in Chinese orchestras include Acting Principal Erhu of HKCO, Principal of the Academy Chinese Orchestra at HKAPA, Principal/Conductor of the Yao Yueh Chinese Music Association, and Principal Zhonghu of the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra, Music Office. In recent years, he has performed and engaged in artistic exchanges in Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Australia, Finland, Russia, Sochi, Korea, Singapore, Japan, mainland China, Taiwan, and Macao.
