Hosted by seasoned music practitioner Jimmy Shiu, the lecture series will introduce different classical music masterpieces and analyse their rhythms, instrumental combinations, lyrics and more in a lively manner, allowing audiences to embark on a journey to explore the world of classical music, thereby appreciating the art and experiencing the joy it brings.

Jimmy Shiu

Jimmy Shiu holds a music degree from the Hong Kong Baptist University, where he majored in Composition. He then pursued further studies at the University of Sheffield in the UK, where he earned a double Master's degree in Composition and Vocal Performance. Passionate about music, Shiu enjoys sharing the joy of music appreciation with others. He frequently gives lectures and serves as a master of ceremonies at concerts. Shiu is also enthusiastic about writing and has published several works related to music appreciation, composition of sacred music (original and arrangements). Most recently, he authored the HK Phil 50^th Anniversary Publication, a book commemorating their golden jubilee.
