Immersed for years in the ancient music manuscripts stranded overseas and murals of Dunhuang, Tan Dun recreated numerous ancient musical instruments of the Tang dynasty. Together with the Dunhuang Academy Ancient Music Consort he will take the audience thousands of years back to experience the restaging of The Vanishing Mogao Caves through ancient dance, vocal performances and mini-operas. On top of the world premiere presented in Paris last year, an addition of ancient music will debut on this stage.
