Beyond National and International: LSO and Rattle

In this talk, Professor Chan Hing-yan will dialogue with conductor Lio Kuokman on a wide array of topics: Sir Simon Rattle's taste in repertoire, the 2017-launched LSO-Rattle era, the LSO's long tradition of never submitting to one principal conductor for long, the orchestra's innovative programming, as well as its leading-edge educational and outreach initiatives etc.

In this talk, Hong Kong composers Fung Lam and Charles Kwong shall share their observation on the LSO's dynamic and forward-looking programmes, with an emphasis on significant premieres over the years, and discuss the importance of diversity in a modern day orchestra's programming.
