Audience is strongly advised to arrive punctually. Latecomers will only be admitted during the intermission or at a suitable break.

Andrew Ling (Viola)
Hong Kong-native Andrew Ling is a concert violist and violinist, conductor, and music educator. Currently the Principal Violist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil), Ling has garnered acclaim for his orchestral playing and solo recitals worldwide. He appeared with the HK Phil, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and China Film Symphony Orchestra as concert soloist.
A versatile and an all-round musician, Ling brought his musicianship to conducting engagements with the HK Phil, Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, Kunming Nie Er Symphony Orchestra, Finland's Seinäjoki City Orchestra and Kuopio Symphony Orchestra. Handpicked to conduct the HK Phil in the rehearsal for Christoph Eschenbach and the late Lorin Maazel, he worked alongside some of the world's foremost conductors, including Jaap van Zweden, Edo de Waart, Jun Märkl and Leonard Slatkin. He was the finalist of the Besançon International Conducting Competition 2017.
Ling's journey with music began at six, where he studied the violin with the late Professor Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He went on to pursue violin performance at the Indiana University under Henryk Kowalski, Mauricio Fuks, Alan de Veritch and the late Ik-hwan Bae, and was a protégé of Lin Choliang at the Rice University.
A successful musician and a much sought-after art educator, upon his return to Hong Kong, Ling remains active in the classical music scene. He is often seen playing solo, chamber and conducting. Ling continued his career as a concert musician and conductor. He has played with many renowned musicians including Wang Yuja, Lin Choliang, Jaime Laredo, Ning Feng, Michael Guttman and The Shanghai Quartet.
Cheng Wai (Piano)
Being praised as "Piano Poetess", Cheng Wai was awarded one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2009. Graduated early from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States, she obtained her master's degree and artist diploma at the Yale University, and then finished with her doctoral degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Cheng's music travels beyond borders from the concert halls of the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., National Centre for Performing Arts, Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre, and more. Cheng is active both as soloist and chamber musician. She appeared with orchestras including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. Today, Cheng teaches at the HKAPA, Hong Kong Baptist University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
