Conferences

Arts managers of the department are sent to international conferences and festivals to keep abreast of developments in the arts, to foster exchanges with international counterparts and to scout quality overseas programmes for presentation in Hong Kong.

Exchanges with the Mainland and Macau

Reciprocal visits were arranged between the department's key personnel and delegations from Mainland and Macau cultural bodies to enhance relationships, improve cooperation and extend networking. Among the visitors were delegations from the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, the Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, the Culture Bureau of the Jiangsu Provincial Government, the Art Service Centre of the Ministry of Culture and two groups of arts administrators from the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and the Shenzhen Grand Theatre.

For performing arts cultural exchange projects, the Guangdong Song and Dance Theatre gave two performances of The Red Lovers at the Sha Tin Town Hall in October as a Greater Pearl River Delta Cultural Cooperation Project.

	The Red Lovers, a programme of the Greater Pearl River Delta Cultural Cooperation Project, received rousing applause from the audience.
