Subvention to Arts Organisations

Through annual subventions, the Department provides funding support to five independent non-profit-making arts organisations — the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Dance Company, Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, Hong Kong Philharmonic Society and Hong Kong Arts Festival Society. To follow up on the Recommendation Report (I) of the Committee on Performing Arts, the Department will transfer the funding responsibility for four subvented arts organisations to the Home Affairs Bureau from April 2007.
