Cantonese Opera-cum-Shadow Puppetry for Youngsters
In addition to Cantonese opera, puppetry and shadow puppet-making classes, showcase activities and finale performance will be arranged in the district to cultivate youngsters’ interest in these traditional art forms. The programme will also explore the fusion of Cantonese opera and shadow puppetry onstage.

The programme will be rolled out in three stages:
Stage 1: Opening Performance (21 April 2019)
The opening performance will perform Cantonese opera-cum-shadow puppetry and introduce Cantonese opera and traditional shadow puppetry to residents in the district.
Stage 2: Workshops and Showcase (May to December 2019)
There will be core workshops, showcase activities and Cantonese opera, puppetry and shadow puppet-making classes to provide training and performance opportunities to youngsters in the district.
Stage 3: Joint Rehearsal and Finale Performance (October to November 2020)
All participants will join the grand finale to celebrate their achievements in front of the local community.
The activities of the scheme are free of charge.
