Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnivals
The Mid-Autumn Festival abounds with characteristics of Chinese traditions and folk culture. To enjoy the festival with members of the public, the Community Programmes Office organises Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnivals in different districts. These fun-filled evening programmes feature spectacular lantern displays and various kinds of performances. Other popular activities like lantern riddle games, folk craft demonstrations and workshops are also very welcome by the participants.
Mid-Autumn Thematic Lantern Display
During the annual Mid-Autumn Festival, we choose an appropriate location to hold a month-long lantern display. The lanterns illuminate the city, allowing both locals and tourists to sample the festive atmosphere and to appreciate the art of traditional lantern making.
