Mock Bodh Tree is a semi-deciduous tree grown in western Yunnan of China, India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia, with a limited distribution in Hong Kong.

The tree, usually epiphytic, has a dense canopy which makes an excellent shade and is therefore an ideal choice for roadside and shade planting, though it tends to shed its leaves heavily every spring in March and April when new leaves grow.

The century-old tree is 18 m tall with a crown spread of 27 m and a DBH of 1 900 mm. It has prominent buttress roots.

Location: Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, at the Garden Road border of the garden
