A Showcase of Creative Flair
Hong Kong is a thriving cultural and creative hub where the joy of discovery exists everywhere! The light and shade of the metropolis are a summary of its residents’ collective culture, language, and history. They accumulate continuously, giving rise to a sense of identity and belonging shared by all. In this interactive multimedia exhibition, 14 young creative units from Hong Kong re-explore the city. Through advertisements, animations, and installation designs, they search for the light and shade within the urban landscape, showcasing Hong Kong’s uniqueness under the categories of “Hang4” (transportation), “Zyu6” (living), “Sik6” (food) and “Zi6” (language). Viewers will get a taste of this city’s inner charm amidst the dazzling lights and the shadows they cast.

Installed at an outdoor site of Zhongxiao Triangle, Huashan 1914 Creative Park, the exhibit is inspired by the distinctive design commonly found in the traditional pawn shops’ neon signs. It uses figure and ground to delineate the shape, form arches and array in X-shape to create an infinite-like tunnel for visitors to walk between to feel the radiance of light and shade and the uniqueness of Hong Kong.
