An Overview

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Culture Promotion Office (CCPO) and the Hong Kong Science Museum (ScM) jointly present the “Glorious Voyage: Splendid Achievements of the People’s Republic of China in Its 75 Years” exhibition series. Through a multifaceted lens, the series enables the public to appreciate the perseverance and comprehensive development of contemporary China over the past 75 years. It comprises three exhibitions:

Hong Kong Museum of History

(1) The "Leapfrog Development" exhibition provides an overview of China’s remarkable progress and accomplishments in five areas, including economic development, infrastructure, culture, sports and ecological conservation. Through engaging text and a wealth of images, the exhibition vividly presents the grand achievements made by countless dedicated individuals with their relentless efforts. The exhibition also featured medals won by the athletes in different Olympic and Paralympic Games to share the fruits of their hard training with the public. It will be held at the Lobby of the Hong Kong Museum of History.

Hong Kong Science Museum

(2) The “Scientific Breakthroughs” exhibition introduces the significant achievements and breakthroughs in science and technology made by the People's Republic of China in the 75 years since its establishment, promoting the Daqing spirit, the "Two Bombs, One Satellite" spirit, and the scientist’s spirit that drive the development of chips and semiconductors respectively with three sections. You are invited to explore the journey of development in science and technology, and to reflect how scientists are dedicated to their mission and forge ahead with unwavering determination in the new era. The exhibition will be held in the Exhibition Hall on the second floor of the Hong Kong Science Museum.

(3) In recent years, AI has rapidly developed, with innovative applications that are gradually changing our lives. The “Era of Intelligence” exhibition showcases multiple AI models and demonstrates their functions in various scenarios such as image recognition, art creation, and language processing. It provides insight for us to understand the fundamental technologies of AI and the innovative work of local research institutions in the field of AI, and prepare for the arrival of the era of innovation. The exhibition will be held in the Special Exhibition Hall on the ground floor of the Hong Kong Science Museum.
