Pssst! Do you believe in colourful dragons, fire-breathing lizards, mischievous fairies and playful giant bugs? No? Then you are in for a big surprise! For some of these wonderful mythical creatures are coming to town this summer, all the way from a faraway place in Guizhou. In this beautiful western Chinese province live talented acrobats and dancers who know all the folklore and secrets of the area. In Dreamscape - the Secret Garden of Guizhou, the award-winning Zunyi Acrobatic Troupe and Guizhou Provincial Song and Dance Ensemble recount some of these magical ancient tales of Nature through songs, dance, humour and mind-blowing acrobatics. Assisted by creative costumes and stage props, the fun-loving troupers travel back in time and transform themselves into fire gods, flower fairies, goddesses of moon and stars as well as baby dragons. They sing and they somersault. They flip and they skip. In doing so, these amazing performers bring together the best of traditional Chinese and modern Western acrobatic movements and choreography.
