If the Truth Can Set One Free?
A Call for Rescue, A Race Against Time, A Mystery Game to Catch the Kidnapper in an Arena Setting
A distress call connected to the police station leads to a series of intriguing cases within a case. Operator Ira, determined to save the kidnapped caller Scelus, goes beyond protocol to search for clues, eventually uncovering unexpected truths behind the victim's struggle and fear. Who is the real victim?
Atonement is adapted from Den Skyldige, which won "Best Film" at Robert Awards, the Danish equivalent of Oscar. Atonement also won five awards, including "Best Drama" and "Best Director" at the prestigious ADA Drama Awards 2023 in Malaysia. The male lead Tan Li-yang and female lead Ruby Yap are well-known young Malaysian actors in film, television, and theatre. Its ingenious stage design immerses the audiences in the tension-filled atmosphere of the police station's reporting room, as they follow the protagonist in gradually unraveling the mystery and decoding the truth.
MUKA Space and The Actors Studio Seni Teatre Rakyat co-presented Atonement at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre in Malaysia in 2022.
