Football

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department manages various types of soccer pitches in Wong Tai Sin District, all of which are hugely popular in the community. The Wong Tai Sin District Football Teams, established by the Wong Tai Sin District Recreation & Sports Council (WTSDRSC), compete in the Men’s and Women’s Football Leagues and the Futsal League organised by the Football Association of Hong Kong, China Limited (HKFA), having notable successes. The Wong Tai Sin Futsal Team defended the championship of the Jockey Club Futsal League - FA Cup in 2023-24 after securing the title in 2022-23. Besides, the Wong Tai Sin Women’s Football Team won the first runner-up in the Jockey Club Women’s Football League (2nd Division) in 2023-24. The District is dedicated to nurturing young players by scaling up the youth teams and district elite teams, with a view to striving for excellence.

To further promote the soccer culture in the District, the Wong Tai Sin District Leisure Services Office (WTSDLSO) organises soccer events on a regular basis, including soccer training programmes, 5-a-side soccer fun days, 5-a-side and 7-a-side soccer competitions. On another front, the WTSDLSO works closely with the WTSDRSC to co-host soccer promotion days, in a bid to attract more young people to participate in soccer activities and enhance the sense of belonging in the community, thereby promoting the culture and development of soccer here.
