“Sports Subvention Scheme” The Third National Sports Associations Outstanding Staff Award

To recognise the outstanding performance of members of national sports associations (NSAs) under the “Sports Subvention Scheme” and their contributions to respective NSAs and sports, the LCSD has, since 2021-22, established the “Sports Subvention Scheme - National Sports Associations Outstanding Staff Award”, under which each NSA can nominate an outstanding employee who has continuously served for no less than five years for the Award.

The evaluation criteria mainly cover the following six areas of work performance:

1. Making significant contributions
2. Providing excellent improvement suggestions
3. Promoting teamwork spirit and enhancing cohesion
4. Effectively utilising information technology
5. Demonstrating leadership skills
6. Making contributions to optimising corporate governance

The LCSD held the “The Third National Sports Associations Outstanding Staff Award” in 2023-24. Upon evaluation, a total of three staff members from different NSAs received the Award, who are listed below in no order of preference:

Mr. Chan Wing-chuen Basketball Association of Hong Kong China Senior Sports Executive
Ms. Lai Siu-ting, Tiffany Hong Kong, China Taekwondo Association Sports Executive
Ms. Wong Tsz-ling Shuttlecock Association of Hong Kong, China Sports Executive

On March 11, the LCSD announced the awardees during the “Annual Briefing for National Sports Associations” held at the Hong Kong Science Museum Lecture Hall and the commendations were presented by Winnie Chui, Deputy Director of Leisure and Cultural Services (Leisure Services). Our warmest congratulations to the three awardees! We offer our best wishes to all awardees and hope that they will continue to excel at work and join hands with NSAs to promote sports development in Hong Kong.
