The hand-made pipe organ of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall, by the Austrian manufacturer Rieger Orgelbau, is the largest mechanically operated instrument of its kind in the Southeast Asia. It is also an iconic musical facility of the Centre. With its enormous range of sounds, coupled with a huge variety of tone colours, this grand pipe organ is a powerful instrument that best showcases the melodious symphonic organ music.
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, two admission-free concerts in the ‘Organ Showcase’ series to be performed by various local players will feature French symphonic organ music in September and December respectively.
