Aragonese organist, pianist and composer Carlos Paterson was trained in different disciplines by great masters such as Jan Willem Jansen, Olivier Baumont, Anna Jastrzebska and Antón García Abril. Recently awarded the 'Cristóbal Halffter' International Composition Prize, he has been active in the most prestigious international festivals in Europe, such as Madrid, El Escorial, Sevilla, León, Oporto, Firenze, Palermo, Leuven, Landsberg, Lugano, Gdańsk, and Leeds in the United Kingdom. His lectures are frequent at the Cervantes Institute in Brussels, the Lund University in Sweden and the Franz Joseph Haydn Konservatorium in Austria. He is also a member of the artistic committee of the 'Antón García Abril' International Piano Competition. Highlights of Paterson's works include his Suite-Sonata for piano Hugo & Daniela, recorded by the international pianist Brenno Ambrosini; chamber music such as In Paradisum, which was released in the Zommerconcerten 2017 in Leuven, and recorded together with the prestigious trumpetist Pacho Flores (Deutsche Grammophon Artist) in 2020; and choral / symphonic music such as his Crux Fidelis and Alborada, that was premiered at the Palau de la Música in Valencia in 2015. He has recorded several works for Radio Nacional de España, European Gramophone and Warner Classics. He holds a Doctorate Degree in History from the University of Valencia, a Master's Degree in musical research from the International University of La Rioja and a Law Degree from National Distance Education University. For ten years, he held the position of Organ Professor at the 'Joaquín Rodrigo' Superior Conservatory of Music in Valencia. He is the Organist at the Cabanilles Monumental Organ in the 'Sacred Heart' Church in Valencia, a Piano Professor at Institute of Musical Arts of the Valencia, and the Coordinator of some organ festivals in Valencia and Aragón. |

Free tickets will be available, limited to four per person, on a first-come-first-served basis at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre enquiries counter between 9 am and 9 pm, or through online registration starting from 1 December (Fri). Children aged 6 and above are welcome. The programme lasts approximately 60 minutes without intermission.
