Bertha Kum (Organ)

Bertha Kum Bertha Kum obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree majoring in piano performance from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Master of Science degree in Performance Science at the Royal College of Music. With piano as her major instrument which she received the LTCL performance diploma with distinction, Kum came under the tutelage of Ms Wong Kin-yu and passed the grade 8 organ exam. She also obtained grade 8 theory, grade 8 vocal, and grade 6 pipa certificates. She studied organ with Ms Margaret Phillips during her time in London.

As a music enthusiast, Kum is active in various music activities. She previously joined the choir of St. Luke’s, Chelsea, where she performed in different cathedrals with the choir. Her recent performance includes The 51st Hong Kong Arts Festival 2023—Voices of Hope and Togetherness—A Choral and Orchestral Gathering. She is now the choir director of SKH Kei Oi Church and an organist at SKH St Anne’s Church.

Inez Lo (Organ)

Inez Lo Inez Lo is a current student of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), majoring in Business Administration and Juris Doctor. She started learning piano at four, and has been studying the organ with Wong Kin-yu since 2017. She was also a recipient of the Mrs Lily Pong Scholarship for Church Organists in 2018.

Lo was awarded ABRSM Grade 8 in cello, ATCL performance diploma in organ and LTCL performance diploma in piano from Trinity College London.

While studying at St. Stephen’s Girls’ College, Lo accompanied the school senior choir on piano and served as an organist in assembly since 2016. She accompanied the school choir in the 10th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition held in 2017, and gave an organ recital in the Christmas fundraising concert in 2018. In the Midsummer Dream concert held by the school Music Committee in the following year, she appeared as an organist and shared the stage with the school orchestra and choir. Three years in a row from 2018, Lo gave performance in the Mrs Lily Pong Scholarship for Church Organists annual concert. She has been serving Chung Chi College of CUHK as an organist at its assembly since 2021, and is currently the chief organist of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui St. Thomas’ Church.

Shirley Yoeng (Organ)

Shirley Yoeng Shirley Yoeng began to play the piano at early age and obtained the licentiate of Trinity College London in piano performance in teenage years. She studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where she started learning the organ with Wong Kin-yu, and received her bachelor degree in information engineering and minoring in music.

Yoeng was awarded the fellowship of Trinity College London in organ performance. She has also given organ recitals at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall, and participated in the master classes by the world-renowned organists, including Olivier Latry, Thierry Escaich and David Graham etc. Yoeng is currently a project engineer at a leading telecom company.

Cedric Tong (Organ)

Cedric Tong Cedric Tong is currently a PhD student at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, majoring in Civil Engineering. Under the tutelage of Ms Wong Kin-Yu, Tong was awarded the ATCL performance diploma in organ. Tong was also awarded in ATCL performance diplomas in piano and violin.

During his secondary education, Tong was the concertmaster of the school orchestra, pianist and organist of the school choir, and chairperson of the school music society.

Tong is currently one of the organists of the Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance. He is also the pianist and keyboardist of the choir and worship band at the CCMA Yau Oi Church.

Free tickets will be given out, limited to two per person, on a first-come-first-served basis at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre enquiries counter between 9 am and 9 pm, or through online registration starting from 10 March (Fri). Children aged 6 and above are welcome. The programme lasts approximately 60 minutes without intermission.
