“Give the Flowers a New Home!” Jockey Club Flower Re-planting Scheme

 

Every year after the Hong Kong Flower Show, suitable flowers remaining in the showground are sent to LCSD parks for re-planting.  The “Give the Flowers a New Home!” Flower Re-planting Scheme was introduced last year to encourage re-planting in the community and raise public environmental awareness.  It returns this year, with the support of major sponsor, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, applications are being invited from schools, environmental groups and non-governmental organisations. 

Upon successful application, organisations and schools may receive potted plants by either of the following ways after the Show closes: 

I.

On-site collection Organisations/schools should send representatives to pick and collect potted plants at the showground during the designated time slot (see application form) on 30 March 2015 (Monday).  Those organisations/schools whose representatives fail to arrive at the showground during the collection period are deemed to have withdrawn from the Scheme.

II.

Free delivery Each organisation/school may have not more than 50 potted plants (of pot diameter 15 cm) delivered to it free of charge, with the type and number of plants assigned by the organiser depending on the plants available in the showground. The plants will be delivered to the organisation/school within the designated time slot (see application form) on 30 March 2015 (Monday).  Please make arrangements to take delivery of the plants.

Notes to Applicants:

1.	Applicants must be charitable or non-profit making organisations registered in Hong Kong, or schools registered under the Education Ordinance.
2.	Interested parties should return the completed application form by post or fax by 16 March 2015 (Monday).  Quotas will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  Late applications will not be entertained.
3.	Successful applicants will be notified by 23 March 2015 (Monday).  No notice will be given to unsuccessful applicants.
