The 13th National Games was completed successfully on 8 September 2017. The HKSAR Delegation achieved the best result with a total of 16 medals (2 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze medals) from competitive sports events, namely cycling, equestrian, fencing, karatedo and swimming. Besides, Hong Kong athletes also performed excellently in newly introduced Mass Participation Events, winning 6 medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals) from rock climbing, roller sports and wushu.
The Organising Committee (OC) of the HKSAR Delegation organised the Welcome Home Ceremony on 29 September 2017 at Conference Hall, West Wing, Central Government Offices. The Ceremony was officiated by the Secretary for Home Affairs and Head of the HKSAR Delegation, Mr LAU Kong-wah and attended by the following guests including President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China and Chairman of the OC, Mr Timothy FOK; the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs and Honorary Adviser of the HKSAR Delegation, Mrs Betty FUNG; the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services and Vice Chairman of the OC, Ms Michelle LI; and the Vice Chairman of the OC and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Mr Tony YUE. Commendation certificates were presented to athletes who achieved outstanding results in the 13th National Games.
