Lotus

Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera), also known as Sacred Lotus or Indian Lotus, is a rhizomatous aquatic perennial herb of the genus Nelumbo in the family Nelumbonaceae.  Native to the tropics of the Asia-Pacific region, Lotus can be found throughout the tropics and in some temperate areas.

The lotus flowers in Shing Mun Valley Park usually bloom between June and July.  Come and enjoy the blossoms!
