| |||||||||||||||||||||
Q2. | Why were the six venues selected?
A2. | It is because these venues provide a beautiful environment and each has its own characteristics for holding wedding ceremonies and shooting photo/video. In Lei Yue Mun Park, the European-style buildings of the 20th century provide an exotic backdrop for wedding photography while the assembly hall, formerly a church of Lyemun Barracks, is an ideal wedding venue. Repulse Bay, one of the most popular beaches in Hong Kong, is characterised by its delightful scenery. The Bauhinia Garden in Kowloon Tsai Park, planted with over 140 Bauhinia trees, is a most picturesque place. Kowloon Walled City Park, with its landscaped features of the gardens of southern China, is the best choice for wedding couples who prefer the traditional type of Chinese wedding ceremonies. Tai Po Waterfront Park presents a panoramic view of the Tolo Harbour, with the Lookout Tower serving as a distinctive shooting location in the Park. Sai Kung is a famous tourist and scenic spot. The platform of Sai Kung Waterfront Park, situated at the seaside of Sai Kung and characterised by its fine sea views, offers an ideal venue for holding wedding ceremonies.

A6. | Either the bride-to-be or the groom-to-be may submit the application twelve calendar months prior to the intended wedding day at the earliest or at least two calendar months prior to the intended wedding day. For instance, venue - booking application should reach the office concerned from 1 to 31 March 2007 if the wedding ceremony is to be held in April 2008. Application forms can be downloaded from the LCSD webpage and they are also available at District Leisure Services Offices (DLSOs) and Lei Yue Mun Park. Q7. | What is the reason for not providing on-line booking service?
A7. | For the sake of fairness, if there is more than one application for the same venue and session, allocation of the venue will be determined by ballot. Q8. | Can the booking be made through a wedding agency?
A8. | Apart from monopoly, a wedding agency may also seek personal gains by raising the hire charges in the course of transferring the right to use the booked venue to others. To eliminate these possibilities, the LCSD will only accept applications from the bride-to-be or the groom-to-be.
Q9. | Can a confirmed booking be altered?
A9. | Under normal circumstances, an application for alteration of the session and/or date in respect of a previously confirmed booking will be treated as cancellation of the booking. Q10. | Will the LCSD assist hirers to decorate the wedding venue or provide supporting facilities?
