There are two types of advisers appointed to assist in policy and operational matters in the provision of cultural services:


Community Advisers

Three streams of 53 advisers provide general advice to the department on the provision of facilities and services involving the performing arts, libraries and museums. These advisers include experts, professionals and community leaders experienced in the promotion of cultural services in Hong Kong.


Expert Advisers

A total of 187 advisers, split into 22 categories, offer advice on the provision of performing arts programmes, the literary arts and museum activities. They include artists, academics and practitioners who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.
