Promotion of 18 Districts Greening Spots

During the show period, the “18 Districts Greening Spots Exhibition” was setup in the Floral Marquee at the central lawn to promote eighteen recommended greening spots by the District Councils. It aimed to introduce to the public know more greening spots to visit in each district and to promote green culture and local tourism.

18 Districts Greening Spots are recommended as follows:

Southern District	Ap Lei Chau Wind Tower Park	Situated on the harbourfront along the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, Ap Lei Chau Wind Tower Park is adorned with installations under the theme of “fishing ports”, allowing visitors to experience the ambience of a traditional fishing port. The park features various greening spots, including the newly completed green wall, the first vertical greening project of parks in the district.
Eastern District	Aldrich Bay Park and Chai Wan Park	Aldrich Bay Park is well-equipped with a comfortable environment, providing picturesque scenery that bring great enjoyment to photography lovers. Chai Wan Park is planted with lush greenery and ravishing flowers rivalling in beauty, thereby attracting species of birds and insects to stay and drawing photography lovers for photo taking.
Kwun Tong District	Jordan Valley Park	Located on New Clear Water Bay Road, Jordan Valley Park, formerly the Jordan Valley Landfill, is the largest park in Kwun Tong District. The park features a radio-controlled model car racing circuit conforming to international standards, ideal for organising major model car racing events.
Wan Chai District	Kellett Island, 233 Gloucester Road	Located at the entrance of Wan Chai Cross Harbour Tunnel, Tunnel Approach Rest Garden on Kellett Island, Gloucester Road is in close proximity to Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter.  While enjoying an ambience of tranquility, visitors to the park can enjoy on the charming views of Victoria Harbour.
Islands District	Mangroves	Richly endowed by nature and far from the bustling urban areas, the outlying islands are locally renowned for the stunningly beautiful natural scenery. For instance, the distinctively unique mangrove area in Tung Chung is just a stone’s throw away from residences, attracting people to visit.
Tsuen Wan District	Shing Mun Valley Park	Located at Shing Mun Road in Tsuen Wan, Shing Mun Valley Park is lavishly planted with flowers, making it perfect for members of the public to spend leisure time.
North District	North District Park	Situated between Fanling and Sheung Shui in the New Territories, North District Park is renowned for its impressive landscapes featuring traditional Chinese pavilions and structures, reminiscent of those charming gardens in Yangzhou during the Qing Dynasty.  At the centre of the park lies an artificial lake with rocky stream cascades, offering a stunningly picturesque scene.
Yau Tsim Mong District	Colourful Garden, Kowloon Park	Kowloon Park, formerly the site of Whitfield Barracks, is now the largest park in Yau Tsim Mong District, an ideal location for members of the public to have leisure outings.  The park features a range of active and passive recreational facilities, including the Colourful Garden where romantic roses, fragrant osmanthus flowers and elegant Chinese ixora flowers are lavishly planted. While admiring the magnificent roses, visitors are left spellbound by the fragrance of osmanthus amid the beautiful chirping of birds, obliterating daily hassles and worries in awe of the multi-sensory experience.
Sham Shui Po District	Lai Chi Kok Park	Lai Chi Kok Park, the largest park in Sham Shui Po District, features distinctively designed western-style gardens, with various vegetation populating the Four Seasons Garden, where members of the public can enjoy the inviting flower scene in a floral sea all year round.
Sai Kung District	Hong Kong Velodrome Park	The Hong Kong Velodrome Park features a central lawn, artificial lakes and various leisure facilities, including a skatepark, an amphitheatre, a jogging track, a climbing wall and children’s play areas. Various plants are dotted across the park, among which the bellflower cherry trees are always the most delightful to the eye. The park is full of cherry blossoms during the flowering period in spring, a hotspot for appreciating the flowers.
Kwai Tsing District	Tsing Yi Park	Located at the town centre of Tsing Yi, Tsing Yi Park is in close proximity to Tsing Yi MTR Station. The park, with its European-style layout design, features a variety of active and passive recreational facilities, which are very well-received by the public.
Tuen Mun District	Tuen Mun Park	Located at the Tuen Mun town centre, Tuen Mun Park, containing extensive green spaces, is the first major park with a range of leisure facilities in the New Territories. The park is conveniently located, within walking distances to Tuen Mun Town Hall, Tuen Mun Public Library and Tuen Mun MTR Station, making it an ideal location for local residents to spend leisure time.
Kowloon City District	Kowloon Walled City Park	Kowloon Walled City Park, renowned for its Jiangnan garden style of the Qing Dynasty, is divided into eight scenic areas, each with distinctively charming characteristics. Fascinating scenes are ubiquitous across the park, leaving visitors spellbound. At the centre of the park stands a restored traditional Chinese administrative office or Yamen with three halls and two internal courtyards, recreating the old days of the Walled City.
Yuen Long District	Yuen Long Park	Located at Shui Ngau Leng in the southwest of the Yuen Long town centre, Yuen Long Park is per se a natural woodland.  Built on a hillside slope, the park preserved the original landform to a considerable extent and the maximum number of trees as early as in the design phase.  Flowers and plants are lavishly planted across the park, among which are two tall evergreen trees, offering a mesmerising scene of stunning beauty.
Wong Tai Sin District	Fung Mo Interchange Amenity Plot	Designed with the theme of “Splendid Floral Feast”, Fung Mo Interchange Amenity Plot is planted with various brightly coloured flowering plants, sending the message that Hong Kong will remain prosperous and stable, and its people will lead a happy and blissful life.
Tai Po District	Tai Po Waterfront Park	Located at Dai Fat Street in Tai Po, Tai Po Waterfront Park, the largest park in Hong Kong, is lavishly planted with various impressively colourful flowers, presenting the changing picturesque scenes with the passage of seasons.
Sha Tin District	Ma On Shan Park	Located at On Chun Street in Ma On Shan and on the waterfront at Tolo Harbour, Ma On Shan Park offers a fascinating distant view of the peaks of Pat Sin Leng directly opposite the Harbour.  It is such a great pleasure to enjoy the panoramic view of the sea and sky.
