Free use of Leisure Facilities

Indoor Leisure Facilities

Badminton courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, netball courts, volleyball courts, squash courts, table tennis tables, American pool tables, billiard tables, sport climbing walls, bowling greens, golf facilities, fitness rooms, activity rooms, dance rooms and cycling track

Outdoor Leisure Facilities

Tennis courts, tennis practice courts, bowling greens, batting cages, sport climbing walls, archery ranges and golf facilities
(excluding camp facilities, sports grounds, artificial and natural turf pitches)

Public Swimming Pools

Excluding Wan Chai Swimming Pool, and Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool and Tung Cheong Street Swimming Pool which are temporarily closed for redevelopment and repair works respectively.

Crafts at Water Sports Centres

Recreational kayaks, pedal-driven boats, sampans and colour boats at Chong Hing Water Sports Centre are available for free use by campers only.

 

Booking Method

The sessions for free use of facilitiesNote 1 on August 4 will be allocated through balloting. From July 16 to 22, members of the public can submit a balloting application for booking available free sessions via SmartPLAY. Each user can submit a total of three balloting choices in one application. Applications submitted can be altered before closing of the application period at 11.59pm on July 22 and the computer balloting result will be announced on July 25. Successful applications will be informed by SmartPLAY system and no confirmation is required by the applicant. Members of the public, who have not been allocated with or applied for the above balloted free sessions, can book the remaining free sessions, if any, via the SmartPLAY website (www.smartplay.lcsd.gov.hk/home) (from 7am) and mobile app (My SmartPLAY) (from 7am), Smart Self-service Stations (from 7.15am) or booking counters (from 7.15am) at major leisure venues on a first-come, first-served basis from July 29. (the services counter at at Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre will start from 7:45am while water sports centres and holiday camps will start from 8.30am).

Each person can only book one free sessionNote 2 irrespective of the type of leisure facility, either from balloting or first-come, first-served booking. 

Note 1

Prior booking is not required for public swimming pools. Members of the public may line up at the entrance of swimming pools before the start of a session. Free admission is offered on a first-come-first-served basis.

Note 2

Each session lasts one hour except for the following: half an hour per session for squash courts; one-and-a-half hour sessions for all archery range; two-hour sessions for cycling track (shared use session) at Hong Kong Velodrome and three-hour sessions for the crafts at the water sports centres.
