Nurturing Young Talent

Quite a number of district arts organisations, including the well-known Yuen Hai Artiste Troupe and Tsuen Wan Culture and Recreation Co-ordinating Association, have started promoting arts and culture in the community as early as in 1970s. Hong Kong Yuen Yuen Chinese Orchestra and Tsuen Wan Youth Children’s Choir, to name but two, were actually founded by the Association. The Town Hall not only provides an ideal base for performance for district cultural groups but also helps nurturing young talent in performance arts. For instance, the Auditorium famed for its acoustics provides the perfect stage for many local music groups and musicians to hold concerts and hone their skills.
