To promote the local community economy, the department is upgrading existing facilities in various districts. The aim is to enhance their attraction to local visitors and tourists, thereby helping to generate more business activities and create more jobs. Projects include: the provision of alfresco dining facilities at Sai Kung Wai Man Road Rest Garden; supply of bike kiosks at Sha Tin Park and Tai Po Waterfront Park; construction of a footpath linking the five beaches in Tuen Mun; upgrading the Seaview Building in Repulse Bay Beach to accommodate quality catering services; improvement works in Kowloon Walled City Park to promote tourism; and the provision of an open-air café at Fleming Road Sitting-out Area in Wan Chai.
