Subvention to Hong Kong Arts Festival

The Department provides an annual subvention to the Hong Kong Arts Festival Society. Held every year in February and March, this is one of the major international festivals in Asia. The 2011 Festival comprised 228 ticketed performances and attracted about 134 000 people, of whom 8 160 attended under the auspices of the Young Friends of the Festival Scheme.
