“Give the Flowers a New Home!” Jockey Club Flower Re-planting Scheme

 

Every year after the Hong Kong Flower Show, suitable flowers remaining in the showground are sent to LCSD parks for replanting.  The “Give the Flowers a New Home!” Jockey Club Flower Re-planting Scheme was introduced in 2014 to encourage replanting in the community and raise public environmental awareness.  It returns this year, with the continuous support of Major Sponsor, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, applications are being invited from schools, environmental groups and non-governmental organisations.

Upon successful application, organisations and schools may receive potted plants by either of the following ways after the Show closes:

I.

On-site collection from showground

  • Each organisation and school may be distributed with not more than 50 potted plants (of pot diameter 15 cm), with the type and number of plants assigned by the organiser depending on the plants available in the showground.
  • Organisations and schools should send representatives to collect potted plants at the designated location of showground during the designated time slot (see application form) on 25 March 2024 (Monday) or 26 March 2024 (Tuesday).  Those organisations and schools whose representatives fail to arrive at the showground during the collection period are deemed to have withdrawn from the Scheme.
II.

Free delivery by organiser

  • Each organisation and school may have not more than 30 potted plants (of pot diameter 15 cm) delivered to it free of charge, with the type and number of plants assigned by the organiser depending on the plants available in the showground.
  • The plants will be delivered to the organisations and schools within the designated time slot (see application form) on 25 March 2024 (Monday) or 26 March 2024 (Tuesday) and please arrange representative to receive the plants.

Notes to Applicants:

1. Applicants must be charitable or non-profit making organisations registered in Hong Kong, or schools registered under the Education Ordinance.
2. Interested parties should return the completed application form by email, post or fax by 19 February 2024 (Monday).  Quotas will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  Late applications will not be entertained.
3. Successful applicants will be notified by 8 March 2024 (Friday).  No notice will be given to unsuccessful applicants.
