Booking Arrangements

The Yau Ma Tei Theatre is closed from September 2022 onwards in connection with the Construction of Yau Ma Tei Theatre Phase 2. The Theatre and the Phase 2 are expected to provide you with better services in 2026. Below information are just for archival references.

 

Major Facility : Theatre

[For Chinese opera and related activities only]

• Ordinary Booking applications for full-length Cantonese opera and opera excerpt performances are accepted not less than 3 months but not more than 12 months in advance of the month of hire.
• Other Chinese opera related activities are accepted not less than 3 months but not more than 7 months in advance of the month of hire.
• Late Booking applications will be considered upon closing of the Ordinary Booking period and processed collectively subject to operational feasibility and in accordance with the criteria as for the Ordinary Booking applications.
• Special Booking applications for full-length Cantonese opera and opera excerpt performances are accepted not less than 13 months but not more than 24 months in advance of the month of hire. Special Booking applications for other activities including Chinese operatic songs and/or excerpt performances are accepted not less than 8 months but not more than 24 months in advance of the month of hire.

Minor Facilities : Function Room (1) and Function Room (2)

• Ordinary Booking applications are accepted twice a year in January and July for a maximum period of half-year 6 months in advance, this means that:

  Ordinary Booking Submission Month	Booking Period
  January	July to December of the same year
  July	January to June of the subsequent year

  In general, it requires two months to process the booking applications of Function Rooms (1) & (2).

• Late Booking applications will be considered upon closing of the Ordinary Booking period and processed on a first-come-first-served basis.
