Indoor Stadia

The 12 500-seat Hong Kong Coliseum and the 3 500-seat Queen Elizabeth Stadium are two premier multi-purpose indoor stadia in Hong Kong that offer great flexibility in staging and seating configurations to suit a variety of events, such as international sporting events and tournaments, concerts for both pop and classical music, spectacular entertainment events, major celebrations, and ceremonial events.

Hong Kong Coliseum

A good number of renowned pop singers performed at the coliseum during the year, including local artists Sam Hui, Ivana Wong, Grasshoppers, Priscilla Chan, Chilam Cheung, Eric Kwok, Alex To, Fiona Sit, Pakho Chau, Hins Cheung, Janice M. Vidal, Sammi Cheng, G.E.M., Miriam Yeung, Mimi Choo and Alan Tam; overseas arts groups Sodagreen and Mayday, and overseas artists Yoga Lin, Della, Stefanie Sun and Show Lo. Other attractions included Summer Pop Live in HK 2014, the Yundi Li Emperor Fantasy World Tour – Hong Kong, a memorial concert for Cheung Yiu Wing, Gala Spectacular 2014, Wong Tze Wah Stand Up 2014, The Voice of China Live in HK, Variety Show for Celebration of the 65th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, Celebration of the Lord Buddha’s Birthday, The Great Repentance Dharma Function and the Three Refuge Five Precepts Ceremony. International sports events held in the year included the FISAC-IRSF World Rope Skipping Championships 2014, the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix – Hong Kong 2014, and the Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2014 (part of the BWF World Superseries).

During the year, the 44 events held at the coliseum attracted 1 305 600 spectators.

Queen Elizabeth Stadium

During the year, major sporting events held at the stadium included the Hong Kong Silver Shield Basketball Championship 2014, the 7th Hong Kong Dancesport Festival – WDSF Grandslam Hong Kong 2014, the Hong Kong Gymnastics For All Festival 2014, the 2014 World Dodgeball Federation World Championships, the Hong Kong Basketball League 2014, the 2014 Hong Kong Bodybuilding Championships cum 5th South China Bodybuilding Invitational Championships, the 2014 Hong Kong Junior & Cadet Open – ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) Premium Junior Circuit, the 2014 Table Tennis Asian Cup, the Cross Straits Hong Kong and Macau Muay Thai Tournament, the 20th Super Kung Sheung Cup International Basketball Invitation Championship, the 51st Schools Dance Festival – Dancesport, the Hong Kong Rhythmic Gymnastics Festival for the Elderly 2015, and the 58th Festival of Sport – Hong Kong Powerlifting Championship 2015.

Cultural events held at the stadium included a drama production Women in Red, the 6th Arts Ambassadors-in-school Recognition Ceremony, the 2014 Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows - Symphonic Band Contest, the Hong Kong Marching Band Contest 2014, the 2014 Hong Kong Marching Band Festival, and the 2015 International a cappella Extravaganza.

Pop concerts included 2014 Albert Au & Friends In Concert, Donald Cheung In Concert, Rosanne Lui’s Concert, Joe Jr In Concert, Siu Fay Concert 2014, RubberBand Live at QES 2014 and the Frances Yip 45th Anniversary Concert, as well as a stand-up comedy show 2014 Hard Eat Expo by Louis Yuen.

During the year, the stadium hosted 130 events, which attracted a total of 309 600 spectators.
