	Introduction of the playground
	Chasing Sharks amid Waves Public playgrounds are a childhood memory for many people, allowing children to unleash their boundless imagination, create and participate in diverse socialising games. In mid-2021, the children in the neighbourhood attended workshops to offer their views about the design of Tong Mei Road Children’s Playground and introduced a hide-and-seek game called “Great White Shark”. Children played different roles of the game and enjoyed themselves according to a set of game rules. Based on this, the design team proposed the theme called “Chasing Sharks amid Waves”, and, together with the children in the workshops, finalised the design of the play space, with reference to their ideas. This playground features climbing and sliding towers of varying heights, equipped with a challenging tube slide and a wide slide suitable for young children respectively, which, together with a small swing and a spinner, allows children of different ages to unleash their imagination, while creating and participating in more socialising games.
