The classic fairy tale of Cinderella, adapted by The Ukrainian
Shumka Dance Company of Canada, is set against the backdrop of a
Ukrainian village: where a beautiful young girl with a gentle spirit
is often bullied by her stepmother and two stepsisters. Yet, with
the help of exotic magical gypsy spirits, she finally finds the
handsome prince with whom she lives happily ever after.
The everlasting love story with comical Cobblers, Fencing Masters, Noblemen and Cossacks combines Ukrainian regional dances, extravagant pageant of costumes and sets, enchanting music as well as the Shumka's thrilling leaps, sensational spins and high-kicks.
