Facilities for Children

Children’s Play Rooms

Children's play rooms are provided by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) in the urban area and the New Territories free of charges. The Children's Play Room is mainly designed for the use by children aged from 4 to 9 whose heights are not exceeding 142cm. Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by parents or guardians inside the play room.

Play Equipment for All Children

The LCSD is committed to providing quality recreational and sports facilities for public use, of which children's playgrounds constitute a major part. At present, about 70% of our children's playgrounds offer diversified inclusive play equipment, which is suitable for all children, including those with disabilities. The designs of the equipment are aimed at bringing happiness to children while helping them learn different skills for balanced development.

Holiday Camps

Introduction

The four Holiday Camps under the management of LCSD are Lei Yue Mun Park, Lady MacLehose Holiday Village, Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre and Tso Kung Tam Outdoor Recreation Centre. They are all ideal places to relieve the stress of city life.

Types of Services

Day Camp 9:30am to 4:30pm
Residential Camp 2:30pm to 1:00pm on checkout day
Evening Camp 4:30pm to 10:30pm

Recreational and Sports Activities

Sports Activities Sport Climbing, Archery, Rope Course, Badminton, Table-tennis, Tennis, Squash, American Pool, Gateball, etc.
Recreational Activities Air hockey, Chinese Billiard, Karaoke, Arts & Crafts, Reading, TV Watching, Children's Play, Soccer Games, etc.

Catering Services

There are restaurant and barbecue area in each Holiday Camp. Daily meals and snacks will be provided by caterer. Campers can place order for other set meals, BBQ packs and additional dishes in advance.

Parks, Zoos, Gardens

Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens

The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens is the oldest park in the territory, with an area of 5.6 hectares, is surrounded by Garden Road, Robinson Road, Glenealy and Upper Albert Road, and divided into the eastern and western parts by Albany Road. The two parts are connected by a pedestrian subway. The eastern part, known as the Old Garden, provides children’s playground, aviaries, a green house and the fountain terrace garden, whereas the western part, or the New Garden, is mainly home to mammals and reptiles.

Green House / Education & Exhibition Centre : 9am to 4:30pm
Mammals Section : 6am to 7pm
Other Areas : 6am to 7pm

Admission : Free
