Sports grounds are provided by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in the urban area and the New Territories. There are track and field facilities in each sports ground for athletic training and competition. In order to maintain the quality of the turf provided in the sports grounds for use by the public, the grass pitch normally has a quota of 60 sessions in a month with a minimum of 30 sessions allocated for individual bookings through the Leisure Link System for conducting ball games (such as football activities). The number of sessions for use in a month may be adjusted by the venue management according to the condition of the turf. Running tracks in most of the sports grounds are open for jogging free of charge when the sports grounds are not reserved by organizations for exclusive use.
